The highlights include a tour of the I, CULTURE orchestra which brings together musicians from several post-Soviet countries under a Polish conductor, the commemoration of the composer Karol Szymanowski and the writers Stanislaw Lem and Czesław Miłosz, and a series of documentary films entitled The Guide to Poles.

In Brussels itself, around 60 events are planned, starting with a concert on July 1 during which the accordion Motion Trio will symbolically take over the presidency from a Hungarian musician.

On July 6 and 7, the Biuro Podróży or Travel Bureau theatre company will give open-air performances of its latest production Planet Lem, which draws on the legacy of the famous Polish science fiction writer Stanisław Lem.
