In this edition of Diplomatic Bag, we take a look into the Eastern Partnership programme, which aims to bring several ex-Soviet states closer to the workings of the European Union, including Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The programme is spearheaded by Poland and Sweden in the European Parliament, but there is talk of a risk that the current events in North Africa, which have been dubbed the Arab Spring, may overshadow Polish plans to promote the programme during the country's upcoming presidency in the second half of 2011. But will this really be the case?
