Two-out-of-three Poles say mosquitoes and bad weather are the two factors most likely to ruin a summer holiday.

A survey by TNS OBOP found that Poles were more tolerant of dishonest tour operators, bad food, bad company and dreadful accommodation than they are of biting insects and poor weather.

Sixty seven percent of respondents came up with mosquitoes when asked what would spoil a summer holiday the most.

Consequently, one-in-three Poles say they steer away from places where the buzzing, biting, bloodthirsty insects abound.

Poles are only slightly more irritated by bad weather (72 percent).

Only 14 percent are worried over dishonest travel bureaus, 24 percent over bad company and 18 percent over bad food.

Poles are most laid-back about hotels: only 30 percent feel that inferior accommodation will spoil a holiday. (ek/pg)
