The survey found that almost one in five Poles say they do not check whether information on the internet is credible.
The study was carried out by the NASK state-run research institute, which is overseen by the Ministry of Digitisation.
Respondents said they most often encountered disinformation on news websites and on Facebook pages dealing with politics.
Those questioned added that the targets of fake news and misinformation were mainly the government (41.5 percent of respondents) and the opposition (36.5 percent).
