“We are being poisoned by exhaust fumes,” Konrad Marczyński, from the Polish Smog Alert organization, was quoted by IAR as saying.

He added that “for our own good, we should limit car traffic” as well as introduce more low-emission cars on Polish roads.

Polish Deputy Environment Minister Michał Kurtyka told Polish Radio on Thursday that the Polish government aims to subsidize the purchase of electric vehicles.

New regulations setting the subsidies at up to PLN 30,000 (EUR 6,900) are to be introduced later this year, Kurtyka was quoted by IAR as saying.
