More than nine in ten Polish pharmacies have joined the country’s new electronic prescriptions system, which is to be fully introduced next year, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.

The agency added that the remaining 7 percent of pharmacies still needed to upgrade their computers, as they are legally bound to accept e-prescriptions from the start of this year.
Some 8,000 pharmacists have been trained in using the new system, IAR reported.
It is estimated that around 250 million paper prescriptions are currently issued every year in Poland, according to IAR.
