The survey by pollster CBOS found that only 10 percent of Poles described 2018 as a bad year for them personally. Six percent said the year has been bad for their families.

These responses make 2018 the best year since 1989 in terms of how Polish people feel about an outgoing year, the pollster said.

At the same time, 50 percent of respondents said that 2018 has been a good year for the country as a whole, while 16 percent said otherwise, with 30 percent neutral and the remainder having no opinion.

The survey was carried out from November 29 to December 9 on a representative random sample of 942 Polish adults.
