A Polish tall ship aiming to promote the country as it celebrates 100 years of independence is expected to call at the port of Hong Kong on its cruise around the world.

While in Hong Kong, the ship's crew will meet the local authorities and the area's Polish community, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The Dar Młodzieży ship will next head to the Japanese port of Osaka where it will celebrate Polish Independence Day on November 11, according to Anna Moskwa, an undersecretary of state at the Polish Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation.
The ship is subsequently expected to head for the western coast of the United States and then to Panama for the Roman Catholic Church's World Youth Day in January 2019.
The Dar Młodzieży in May left the Polish Baltic port of Gdynia, with plans to call in at 22 ports around the world during its 10-month Independence Cruise.
Poland this year marks the centenary of regaining its independence after more than 120 years of foreign rule.
