The meeting was expected to be attended by senior military men from Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Israel, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Britain, Hungary and the United States, according to the Polish defence ministry.
Poland’s Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak was scheduled to give a speech at the opening of the conference.
The two-day meeting was being held as part of the European Territorial Defence Regional Cooperation Initiative under the slogan "United We Win," public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Poland in 2016 created a new territorial defence force, a move that officials said was needed in the face of an aggressive Russia.
