Health and safety scrutinised at Polish kids’ camps

Polish health and safety inspectors found breaches at 248 camps and organised stays for young people during this year’s school summer holidays, officials said on Thursday.

Irregularities included 142 cases of inadequate sanitary conditions and 30 cases of problems with swimming areas, state news agency PAP reported.
A total of 8,600 checks were carried out. Inspectors issued 248 fines, according to PAP.
Officials registered 1,262 cases of children and young people falling ill, 932 accidents and injuries, and 202 instances of food poisoning.
