The warning came as 5,500 specialists from Poland, Europe, Asia and America were expected to gather in the southern Polish city of Kraków on Thursday for an international congress of the Polish Cardiac Society.
Some 500 lectures were to be delivered at the event, which runs until Saturday.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 17.5 million people die across the globe every year because of cardiovascular diseases.
