The explosive device was supposed to be denoted in the city of Białystok earlier this week, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The two suspects are both employees at the shopping mall.

On Monday, police in Białystok were notified after a part of the primitive bomb exploded in a shopping mall administration office; no one was injured, according to IAR.

The investigation was then taken over by officers from Poland’s Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), who tracked down a 65-year-old shopping mall employee who they say had asked a 35-year-old colleague to build an explosive device.

Investigators are still working to determine the motives of the suspects, the IAR news agency said.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have charged the men with endangering the lives or health of many people and of attempting to damage property by setting off explosives, according to IAR.

If convicted, the suspects face up to 10 years in prison, the news agency reported.
