A restored tombstone for Mother Matylda Getter’s grave was unveiled at the Powązki cemetery in Warsaw.

Meanwhile, designs were unveiled for a Warsaw museum which will highlight the story of Mother Matylda Getter and her congregation as well as of other religious institutions in Poland which saved Jewish children.

Over 700 Jews, mainly children, were rescued from the Holocaust thanks to the efforts of Mother Matylda Getter and her nuns during the German occupation of Poland, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

After the war she was named as one of the Righteous Among the Nations by Israel.
