The new Centenary of Regained Independence Medal will be presented to recipients including war veterans and successful businessmen and scientists, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The initiative to establish the new state decoration came from President Andrzej Duda, IAR said.
Poland regained independence on November 11, 1918, the day World War I ended, after 123 years of partition by Russia, Austria and Prussia.
