Poland to pump extra funds into public health care

Poland’s health minister said on Wednesday the country would pump an additional PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 350m, USD 413m) into public health care as the government aims to cut queues for treatment.

Łukasz Szumowski said that improving patients’ access to specialists was one of the government’s priorities.
The extra funding will be used for medical procedures including cataract surgery, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scans, and for treating disabled people, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
