Polish officials seize millions of contraband cigarettes from China: report

Police and customs officers have seized 18 million contraband cigarettes which arrived in Poland aboard two ships from China, according to reports.
Officers swooped after the ships docked at the northern Polish port of Gdańsk. They had sailed from two different Chinese ports, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The cigarettes had a black market value of PLN 12 million (EUR 2.8 m, USD 3.3m), IAR reported, adding that they were found by customs officers using modern scanning equipment.
