Firefighters said a flammable liquid was poured on the doors of premises used by Beata Kempa, who is a member of Poland's parliament and also heads the Polish Prime Minister’s Office with the rank of minister.
The liquid was then set alight. Nobody was injured during the incident in Syców, south-western Poland, in the early hours of Tuesday.
"The door was destroyed, while a plastic container was also thrown inside the premises. Fortunately, the fire did not spread and was quickly extinguished," said Jarosław Kwieciński, a spokesman for local firefighters.
Kempa is a deputy for the United Poland (Solidarna Polska) party, a rightist group led by Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro that is part of the conservative government.
Syców is Kempa’s home town.
