She was speaking at the launch of the third “Cybersec” European Cybersecurity Forum in Kraków, southern Poland. The event runs until Tuesday.
Szydło said cybersecurity was among the most important challenges for the modern world.
"This is about the economy, security, it’s a question of stability, but also -- I think we all realize -- of peace," she said.
Szydło said cybersecurity departments were being set up in the offices of the prime ministers of many European Union countries.
The Kraków forum is considered one of the five most important meetings of its type in Europe.
It includes debates and events entitled “Dark Web - the Evil Face of the Internet,” “From Cyber with Love - Digital Threats to Democracy” and “Shining a Light on the Cyberthreats Landscape in Europe.”
