Alert as Poland braces for heatwave

Officials have issued the highest level of heat warnings for south-east Poland as the mercury is expected to soar.

The alerts come from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management as temperatures in the south-east are expected to rocket to 36 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
According to forecasters, the hot weather will last at least until the end of the week, accompanied by violent storms, some of which may be hailstorms.
