Taxi drivers in four Polish cities launched protests on Monday, demanding that cheap competition should be delegalised.

Drivers formed convoys travelling at low speed, exacerbating morning rush-hour problems.
The protests were held in Warsaw, Łódź, central Poland, and the western cities of Poznań and Wrocław.
Some 3,000 drivers took part in the Warsaw protest, the PAP news agency reported.
Jarosław Iglikowski, head of the Warsaw Taxi Driver trade union, said taxis set off towards the centre of the capital from five different locations.
Iglikowski said the protests were not just over the popular Uber ride-hailing platform, but also over other carriers who taxi drivers claim operate unlawfully.
The drivers handed in petitions with their demands at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction and the Ministry of Finance. Their protest ended at around 12pm.
