Polish environment minister to preside over COP24 conference

Polish Environment Minister Jan Szyszko has been chosen to preside over the COP24 climate summit which will be held in Poland in 2018.

“[Szyszko] will manage the presidency and organisation of the climate summit,” a ministry spokesman told the PAP news agency, adding that the choice was made by the climate-change committee of the United Nations.
Last year Szyszko said that during the COP24 summit, Poland intends “to demonstrate how to neutralise [carbon] emissions using innovation and CO2 sequestration by forests and soils to the other states.”
The COP24 summit will be held in November 2018. (rg/pk)
