At a press conference on Tuesday, prosecutors in the city of Jelenia Góra, southern Poland, said that a preliminary probe did not find any signs of abuse or suspicious infliction of violence on Magdalena Ż (name withheld under Polish privacy laws), whose death late last month made the headlines in Poland.

The 27-year-old woman was reported to have fallen from a window at a hospital near the resort town of Hurghada, where she was vacationing alone.

Investigators have been pursuing several theories, including human trafficking and organised crime.

None of those lines of inquiry has been ruled out, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

“We are taking into account the version related to human trafficking, drug trafficking" as well as suicide, said prosecutor Marek Gołębiowski. Investigators added that there is no evidence that Magda’s boyfriend was involved in her death.

However, murder has not been ruled out, prosecutors said.

In a recent phone conversation, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told his Polish counterpart Witold Waszczykowski that Egypt is willing to “cooperate in clarifying the circumstances of Magdalena Ż.’s death,” according to a statement released by the Polish ministry.
