Investigators are probing a contract between Poland's state-owned railway company PKP and a Warsaw business. The PLN 1.9 million (EUR 440,000) deal is suspected to have caused the rail firm losses.
On Thursday Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) officers detained five people in connection with the organization of World Youth Days in Poland last year.
The infrastructure and construction ministry on Friday decided to dismiss the whole PKP board due to the ongoing investigation.
Four members of the board were charged with mismanagement and inadvertently causing PLN 1.9 million in damages to the company, said the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
They face up to three years in prison.
Krzysztof Mamiński has been appointed new CEO of the company. (rg)
