KNF spokesman Jacek Barszczewski said Polish banking sector operations are not threatened.

Barszczewski said the KNF had identified an outside attempt to interfere with an IT system used to run the www.knf.gov.pl website.

He said that the "work of the Office is being carried out unimpeded", adding: "Internal systems of reporting by supervised entities function independently of the IT system that supports the website and remain secure."

Barszczewski added in a statement: “The Office remains in contact with representatives of supervised sectors, including the banking sector, whose operations are not in any way threatened."

Digitization ministry spokesman Karol Manys told the PAP news agency that the ministry is aware of the incident and is investigating, as are other authorities.
