Polish President Andrzej Duda has voiced his condolences to the families of the dead miners.
The tremor happened at the Rudna mine, owned by Polish copper mining giant KGHM.
Nine rescue teams were deployed to carry out a search.
Shortly after a strong earth tremor on Tuesday, the company said that 16 miners were missing. The figure was later revised to 10.
