Several hundred of the club's fans gathered in front of the City Hall in Łódź to protest against not being let into the stadium for their team’s match on Sunday.

The fans were banned from the stadium by the authorities and police due to safety concerns.

The crowd set off flares and threw bottles and stones at the police when they tried to control the gathering. Police officers detained 29 people. (mol/pk)
