The four Russian citizens, who according to prosecutors say they have Chechen nationality, face up to 12 years in prison.
In the spring of 2015, Polish media reported that the country’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) had detained three men on suspicion of being part of a group collecting funds for terrorists.
“Taus G., Zaur G., Alvi Y. and Shamkhan A., were charged with participating in an organised criminal group and raising funds intended to serve the financing of offences of a terrorist nature in connection with activities of the so-called Islamic State,” prosecutors said.
