“The body fished out of the Warta [river] is that of Ewa Tylman. This can be confirmed with 100 percent certainty thanks to DNA testing,” the deputy district prosecutor of Poznań, Łukasz Biela, told the city's Radio Merkury.

The woman's body was pulled out of the river on 25 July. It was clear at the time that it was that of Ewa Tylman, due to personal items found on and around the body.

The 26-year-old woman disappeared in late November in Poznań. She was last seen returning from a house party in the vicinity of the Rocha bridge near the city. The man she was with, Adam Z. (name withheld due to Polish privacy laws) is still in police custody, and is suspected of the woman’s murder.

The body was found some 12km down river from the location Tylman was last seen, police said when the body was discovered.

In November 2015, the city of Poznań organised extensive searches in the area in and around the river to try and find Tylman’s body. (rg)
