At a meeting between the Tarnów and Rybnik clubs, 18-year-old Rempała was accidentally hit by another rider. The force of the collision threw him off his bike and ripped off his helmet.
Rempała was airlifted to a hospital in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, southern Poland, which specializes in head injuries.
He underwent surgery to treat brain swelling and bleeding, and had been in a coma.
A hospital spokesman said Rempała was pronounced dead on Saturday. (ał/pk)
