Joyride ends in tragedy for two teenagers

A 15 year-old teenager who drove off with his parents’ car and then took four friends on a joyride has died after the car fell into a skid and crashed into a concrete barrier.

The accident happened on a local road near the village of Michalowka in the district of Olkusz, southern Poland. It is thought that the 15 year-old took his parents’ Toyota Yaris without their knowledge.
A 16 year-old passenger who was riding in the front seat also died in the crash, while the three other passengers have been air-lifted to hospitals in nearby Krakow and Sosnowiec.
Regional Prosecutors have begun an investigation into the causes of the crash. (jb)
