The man, who has admitted to attempted burglary as well as damage to property, apparently thought that the costume from kids' film 'The Minions' would provide an effective way of staying incognito.

However, he was unable to force his way through the doors of the office.

A bystander noticed the attempted break-in, and the would-be thief fled the scene.

Police ultimately pinpointed the man's address several days later, and the bright yellow Minion costume was found in the suspect's flat.

The bungled burglary could see the 45-year-old serve up to ten years in prison. (nh)
