The intrepid adventurers went out hiking on Friday and had not returned by nightfall.
They were reported missing by 8:00 am on Saturday. They were found alive and well just a few hours later on the Slovakian side of the border.
A representative of the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service (GOPR) said that the Beskidy Mountains in southern Poland have been affected by unfavourable weather for mountain hiking.
“It's snowing, and visibility is between 50 and 150 meters. These conditions make it impossible to move safely,” GOPR's Szymon Wawrzuta said. (rg/di)
