UPDATE: The Senate adopted amendments to Constitutional Tribunal bill. Sixty senators voted in favour of the amendment, 23 voted against, while and two abstained. There are 100 senators in the house. The bill will now be signed by Polish President Andrzej Duda.
The amendment is related to the reelection of five judges to the Tribunal.
Experts say that the bill, which was fast tracked by the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party will likely pass the Senate, which (like the Sejm) holds a PiS majority.
Discussions on the bill lasted well into the night between Thursday and Friday in the Senate.
