Colonel Maciej Karczyński, the spokesperson of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), reassured that Poland was not facing a terrorist threat, after multiple terrorist attacks of unprecedented level hit Paris on Friday evening.

A series of shootings and suicide bombings which occurred in six separate locations in the French capital left at least 120 people dead and scores injured.

The agency, collecting intelligence on the attacks and monitoring the situation on site, is assessing the possible impact of last night's outbreak of extreme violence on Poland, the ABW spokesperson has said.

A statement in the same vein was voiced by special services coordinator Marek Biernacki.

As the official underlined, there was no evidence of an elevated risk of terrorist attacks for Poland that would prompt the authorities to issue a terror alert in the country.

Biernacki assured that the Polish services were ready to provide any needed assistance to France. (aba/rk)
