While the 2015 assessment saw Poland fall to ninth place (62.95 points) from last year’s sixth place (64.26 points), the differences in scores were minimal. The country remains in the elite group of Europe’s most fluent English-speaking countries.
Poland fared better than European counterparts Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The countries that placed higher than Poland, namely the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Luxemburg, scored between 70.94 and 63.45.
The study tested the levels of English in over 70 countries from Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. (ua/aba/rk)
