The expenditures include PLN 42 million (around EUR 10 million) on electoral commission members, and some PLN 30 million (EUR 7 million) on printing voting cards, the Central Electoral Office has announced.

Individual remuneration is to range between PLN 160 (nearly EUR 40) for regular staff at polling stations to PLN 200 for the local commission heads. District commission chairs are to receive PLN 500 (around PLN 120).

The ballot is to be held in some 28,000 electoral districts across Poland.

Following a lottery draw by the State Electoral Commission, the voting cards are to feature respectively: largest opposition party Law and Justice (PiS, no. 1 on the list), ruling Civic Platform (PO), the left-wing Together party, conservative KORWiN party, followed by junior coalition partner Polish Peoples’ Party (PSL).

The United Left, bringing together the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Your Movement (TR), Labour United (UP), Polish Socialist Party (PPS), and the Greens, is no. 6 on ballot cards.

The final entrants on the voting card are Kukiz’15 and Modern.pl (Nowoczesna.pl).

Some 30.5 million Poles are eligible to vote. (aba/rk)
