Sweltering temperatures continue across Poland

Poland's heatwave continued over the weekend, with temperatures soaring to 38° C
in Lower Silesia in the south-west.

Saturday's readings were highest in the cities of Wrocław and Legnica, where thermometers hit 38° C in both localities.
The highest temperature ever recorded in territories within Poland's current borders was 40.2° C, which was registered on 29 July 1921 in Prószków (then Proskau in Germany).
Meanwhile, on Saturday temperatures reached 37° C in Warsaw and other regions.
The lowest temperature was in the Baltic seaside resort of Świnoujście, north western Poland, with 23° C.
Thunderstorms with hail have been forecast across much of Poland for Sunday. (nh/rk)
