Authorities warn against flying drones around airports

Poland’s Civil Aviation Authority has issued a directive that drones cannot be flown around airports, over roads and within cities.

The use of non-commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) does not require a licence in Poland.
A spokesperson for Polish Air Navigation Services Agency Mikołaj Karpiński told the PAP news agency that anyone who wants to fly around airports needs to apply for written permission a few days in advance.
On Monday, a Lufthansa plane narrowly missed colliding with a drone while approaching Warsaw's Chopin International Airport .
A man was questioned by police relating to the incident. (rg)
