More than 430 families who were particularly hit by the storms last week, will receive benefits which will be funded by the Ministry of Administration and Digitisation.

For this purpose, the government has earmarked PLN 2 million.

So far, families in eight voivodeships have applied for funding, according to ministry spokesperson Artur Koziołek.

In the Łódzkie province alone, 110 families will receive a total of PLN 550,000. This translates to around EUR 1,200 each.

Meanwhile, some regions of the Warmińsko Mazurskie voidvodeship in northern Poland are still experiencing power cuts.

The Meteorology and Water Management Institute (IMGW) said that almost all areas in Poland could experience storms as well as hail in the coming days. (rg)
