Fire-fighters were called into action over 460 times, with the regions of Wielkopolska and Lower Silesia worst hit.

A driver lost his life near the Silesian village of Studzionka when a tree fell on his car.

Warnings about potential delays on roads have been issued owing to debris following the storms.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has noted that there could be more storms on Wednesday, particularly in the Lublin, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie regions, as well as in Małopolska and Podlasie. (nh)
