Law and Justice leads in parliamentary poll

A new parliamentary survey released by CBOS pollsters places Law and Justice ahead by one percentage point of current ruling party Civic Platform, with two other parties gaining seats in the Sejm lower parliamentary house.

In the latest poll, Law and Justice gained 5 percentage points on a similar survey undertaken in April to take 35 percent of votes. Meeanwhile, Civic Platform takes 34 percent with a slide in support of two percentage points.

Other parties to gain seats in the Sejm include the current junior coalition partner Polish People’s Party and maverick politician Janusz Korwin-Mikke’s group KORWiN, both scraping the minimum required with five percent apiece.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Left Alliance gained four percent in the poll (down three points).

The poll revealed that as many as 70 percent of voters want to take part in the autumn poll. The survey was undertaken between 14-20 May on a representative selection of 1,048 adult Poles. (jb)
