"Together, we manifest that in matters of national security, [as well as in] the effectiveness of the defense system in case of danger, we are united in terms of the level of cooperation and our ability to act,” President Bronisław Komorowski told a press conference on Wednesday.
The bill is an amendment to the law on the obligation to defend the Republic of Poland, as well as other issues.
"This law gives the Polish state a real ability to effectively and quickly respond to a possible crisis,” the Polish president noted.
The move follows a call for reservists last week, although Army officials said this is not related to the escalating tension between Russia and the West. (rg)
