Twelve teams will compete by playing “World of Tanks”, a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) which allows players to control armoured vehicles and fight against each other.

Deputy Mayor of Warsaw Michał Olszewski commented “I am very happy that Warsaw will be hosting the best players of 'World of Tanks' for the second time.”
“The final clash of the best players of one of the most popular e-sport games in the world attracted large crowds of fans last year, and we hope that this time will be similar.”

Last year over 200,000 people took part in the 'World of Tanks' League, with a thousand tournaments organised before eventually culminating in a final round in Warsaw.

“World of Tanks” released a statement on their website saying “We are proud to inform you that The Grand Finals will be held in Warsaw, Poland. Yes, that’s the beautiful city which shares our passion in delivering an unforgettable eSports experience.

“There are many ways to describe how the show went down and why we chose to come back to Warsaw, but it would be best to let the words of the media speak for themselves.”

The statement was followed by selected comments from the media praising Warsaw’s role as a host city last year.

Entry to the 2015 Grand Finals will be free and a live stream will also be available for those who cannot make it. (sl)
