Polish health services among the worst in Europe

The state of Poland’s hospitals is at the tail end of the EU, according to a report by Sweden’s Health Consumer Powerhouse.

The ranking was prepared on the basis of dozens of indicators, including e-Health, abortions (which is illegal in Poland, Cyprus, Ireland and Malta) as well as MRSA infections in hospitals.
Other issues considered were patients' rights, access to information, doctors as well as the effectiveness of health care.
In the European Union, Poland only fared better than Lithuania and Romania. The Netherlands were the highest rated. (rg)
