Human leg washes up on banks of River Vistula

Human remains have washed up near Warsaw on the banks of the River Vistula in Nowy Secymin.

The find was made in an area that had previously been flooded near the river, about 34 km from the capital.

According to RMF FM 24, a leg wrapped in tin foil has been retrieved.

Initial studies indicate that the remains may have lain at the spot for as long as six months before they were discovered.

Police are re-examining cases of unexplained disappearances from over the last year. (nh)
