The final decision remains with Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Conflict came to a head earlier this month when Pachciarz filed a lawsuit against the ministry.
Pachciarz had sought an increase of nearly 1 billion zloty (239.2 million euro) in the state budget for people who are not insured under the umbrella of NFZ.
Parliamentary committees on health and finance had both objected to the policy.
The Health Ministry itself wavered, with Deputy Minister Slawomir Neumann saying prior to Pachciarz's announcement that “there was no clear decision” on the matter, but that there was a “conflict” that needed to be resolved with the Ministry of Finance.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk's acceptance of Arlukowicz's call for Pachciarz's dismissal is largely a formality.
In this regard, it is understood that Deputy Head of the NFZ Marcin Pakulski will take Pachciarz's post over an intermediary period. (nh)
