Teen finds thousands of zloty on street, returns cash

A 14-year-old boy from Jasienica near the southern city of Bielsko-Biala, has returned a wallet containing 20,000 zloty (5,000 euro) to its owner after finding the cash in a puddle by a bus stop.

Filip Pierzyna noticed that the wallet was full of cash, as well as containing a number of ATM cards with relevant PIN numbers attached, and other documents.

The teenager told his partents about the find, after which they informed the police and managed to find out the identity of the wallet’s owner.

The wallet was safely returned to a Ukrainian in the presence of police in Jasienica.

The Ukrainian had been working on construction sites in Bielsko for the past 18 months, sending the money back home to his family. (jb)
