Google Street View covers Poland

Search giant Google has expanded its Street View facility for Poland, bringing it into line with dozens of other countries across the globe.

It is now possible to savour 360-degree views of destinations the length and breadth of the country, as well as major roads across Poland.
The initial Polish launch was pushed through last year to accompany the country's co-hosting of the Euro 2012 football tournament.
However, only the four host cities (Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Wrockaw) were activated, together with a smattering of popular destinations that were voted for in an online poll.
Yesterday, Google carried out the largest update in its history, adding 350,000 miles of roads across 14 countries, together with wide-ranging additional material for Poland.
Some 50 countries around the world are now included in the facility, at varying stages of development.
The service has not been without controversy, with complaints that Street View is an invasion of privacy.
In April 2009, residents of the English village of Broughton formed a human barrier to stop the legendary Google cars from filming the locality. (nh)
