Over 380 were also injured in 299 accidents from Wednesday evening – when families began to travel to cemetaries all over Poland to pay respects to dead loved ones as part of Roman Catholic All Saints Day on Thursday - to Friday night.
Police say they also arrested 948 people on drink-driving offences.
“We urge people not to put off the decision to return home till Sunday evening,” spokesman at Police HQ in Warsaw, Robert Horosz said, in an attempt to keep traffic to a minimum on the last day of the holiday. (pg)
