Does Poland stand a chance of becoming a windfarm eldorado? Some analysts are saying 'yes' given the estimates that Poland has some of the best documented wind resources in Central and Eastern Europe and that the number of windmills generating power in this country is to increase tenfold in the next ten years.

In the program:

Margonin is a picturesque town in the Wielkopolska region with over 600 years of history and a population of 3300. Located 80 km from the 5th largest Polish city - Poznań - it is a place where the biggest wind farm in the country is located

/60 windmills spread on the area of 20 km they are capable of generating 120 megawatts of power - enough to provide electricity to almost 200.000 households or half a million people per year. The driving force behind the Margonin wind park is EDP Renewables - the Portuguese company which entered the Polish market in 2007 and quickly became a leader in renewables sector.
